Matt is active in the local racing community and enjoys competing as well as consulting fellow cyclists regarding bicycle repair. Local clubs often invite him to provide workshops where he demonstrates the basics of bicycle maintenance. Matt and Mindy enjoy training and racing together as teammates on the local race team Nero Veloce, and they admit their vacations typically revolve around a bike race! Whether it be a head-wind, a tailwind, a steep climb, or a spiraling descent, they have each other’s backs (and two adorable doggies; available for viewing and petting at no extra charge!).

Bikes are Matt’s passion! It doesn’t matter if you bring him a $500 or $5000 bike, he treats each tune-up, build or repair as if it were a masterpiece. With high attention to detail and a passion for a well-oiled machine, Matt redefines bike repair. Chances are, you’ll feel faster and stronger just looking at your bike when he’s done with it! Not only that, you'll feel smarter, too, as he takes time to discuss what he worked on, as well as consult on any necessary upgrades you may need, all with your budget in mind (as if you have a budget when it comes to your bike!).

Matt stays up-to-date on the ever-evolving world of bikes, so he is familiar with the latest and greatest and can work with you to build or upgrade a bike that best fits your needs.

Matt Caruso, also known as the “Bike Whisperer”, has been repairing bikes of all makes and models since 1983. In 1987, his skill and expertise landed him as a mechanic for the U.S. Cycling team. Beginning his career in Berkeley, California, he moved to the Duke City in 1994 to be closer to family. This proved to be a good move, as he then met his wife, Mindy, and they have been happily married ever since.
